Natalie Samuels MSW, LCSW, EMDR Trained
Owner and Founder of Blue Willow Counseling Center, LLC

Bring a cup of tea or coffee to our telehealth session together and let's talk. Let's take the time to hear your story and where life has taken you. Where are you today? Where would you like to be? I have a gentle but intentional approach that is backed by evidence-based practices, and look forward to the honor of walking alongside you on your journey.

I provide outpatient psychotherapy (also known as "talk therapy") services in a safe and comfortable environment via a confidential HIPAA compliant video telehealth software. I specialize in working with individual adults (18 years of age and older). My areas of expertise include trauma, anxiety and depression, as well as life changes and self esteem concerns. I am EMDR-trained, which is a particularly effective type of therapy for those who have experienced trauma. I also utilize an eclectic approach incorporating components of CBT, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction techniques, DBT, MI, and Internal Family Systems.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Indiana, which is one of the several paths professionals can take to become outpatient mental health therapists. Because I am licensed in the State of Indiana and provide online telehealth services, I can see anyone who currently lives within the State of Indiana.

I am also a Member of the National Association of Social Workers, and was previously a State-Wide Trainer for Youth Mental Health First Aid for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention, as well as a past volunteer for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

I have 12+ years of experience working in the mental health field, including in community mental health, behavioral health inpatient, youth residential treatment, school social work, long-term care, & outpatient mental health counseling. I also have previous experience working with an Art Therapist on how to blend the creative process with traditional talk therapy as clients desire.

1.

Intake (First) Therapy Session
(60 mins)

For our first session together, we have a full 60 minutes to get to know you. What would you like to get out of your time here? Where would you like to be? Near the end of our session together, we'll discuss different therapy modalities and what feels like the best fit to help you reach your goals.

2.

Individual Therapy Sessions
(45-50 mins)

After we complete our intake session together, we set out on our journey towards meeting the goals we came up with together at intake, one 45-50 minute session at a time. Each session allows time to talk through what feels like priority to you, and targets what changes you would like to experience. All of this is backed by data-driven, evidence-based practice, in a safe and calming environment.

3.

EMDR Therapy Sessions
(90 mins)

90 minute sessions allow for more processing time with Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (or E.M.D.R.) Therapy. EMDR Therapy is an evidence-based practice for those who have experienced trauma, and helps people let go of the negative beliefs we hold about ourselves.

4.

Trainings & Presentations

You ask - I answer

HOW MUCH DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION COST?
Our Intake (First) Session together is 60 minutes long, and is $125.

Sessions after our intake are 45-50 minutes long, and are $100.

For those interested in EMDR Therapy, EMDR is best completed in occasional 90-minute sessions, which are $150.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I am out of network with all insurance, due to large amount of time it takes for one person to process all the paperwork related with it. This allows me to dedicate my time to providing you with the highest level of care. I am able to provide you with a detailed receipt, that you can submit to your insurance company if they provide reimbursement for "out of network outpatient counseling".

I accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express cards. I also accept most HSA/FSA cards, as well as cash and checks. Payment is due at time of service.

HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED? HOW OFTEN SHOULD I SEE YOU?
This varies greatly from person to person. My usual rule of thumb is to start with 12 sessions, at which point you may feel you have met your goals, or decide you have further work you'd like to do together. Or, you may even find that you need less than 12 sessions! For those who have experienced trauma, you might find that you'd like to complete more sessions to get to where you want to be.

How often we meet varies as well. For those currently experiencing more intense symptoms, meeting weekly or every other week is best at first. For others, you might wish to only meet every 2-4 weeks.

We can talk further together regarding both of these questions at our intake session, to determine the best plan for you.

THERAPY WITH YOU IS EXPENSIVE. AREN'T YOU A SOCIAL WORKER WHO IS SUPPOSED TO BE GIVING BACK TO HER COMMUNITY?

While I understand that paying out of pocket for therapy services can be expensive, providing a high quality of care for you is my priority; therefore, I do not accept insurance directly at this time. I do try to keep my rates comparable to or less than others in the community.

I also take the National Association of Social Workers' Code of Ethics very seriously, including the values of service, social justice, dignity & worth of the person, importance of relationships, integrity, and competence. Therefore, I volunteer regularly with the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention- Indiana Chapter, taking the micro-level patterns I see in practice and working towards making mezzo and macro-level changes in our community.

Since 2015, I have been volunteering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention-Indiana Chapter by providing free Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainings to organizations all across the State of Indiana. In the past, I have also given back to the community by facilitating the local monthly Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Group for children and teens, for those who have lost a parent or loved one to suicide. I have also volunteered with the AFSP Education Committee, reaching out to schools and organizations across the State to offer free suicide prevention trainings, as well as volunteered as the Master of Ceremonies for the 2016 International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day at Butler University. I try to make it a priority to volunteer for at least 100 hours per year.

If my services are not the right fit for you, I am also happy to help provide referral information and coordinate transition to services to a local provider who aceepts insurance directly. Whomever you seek care with, your quality of care is what is most important to me!
